Cultivation Techniques: Several Cultivation Techniques of Garlic Yellow

Garlic is a colorful, aromatic, fresh, delicious and nutritious vegetable. It is a popular appetizing fitness vegetable. Garlic Yellow has simple production technology, a short production cycle, and a large scale of production. It can be used for large-scale production of goods as well as the use of house-side or even potted garden production. Its cultivation techniques are as follows:

1, production season and venue

Garlic yellow has a short growing period and a wide range of temperature adaptation. It can grow at 12-30°C. Therefore, it can be produced in autumn, winter, and spring, and can be planted in Daejeon, protected areas, and general living rooms. In the case of sufficient supply of planted garlic, it can be planted in stages for festivals or occasional needs according to actual needs. However, the germination of garlic in the appropriate temperature range, the higher the temperature, the faster the growth; so when planting should be based on the production season, the outside temperature changes, a reasonable arrangement of planting sites to regulate the growth of garlic yellow microclimate. The general high-season production season from August to September, the best choice for outdoor shading or indoor cool ventilation; winter or early spring low outside temperature, planting place should choose sunny leeward warm premises or protected areas to maintain a higher temperature.

2. Facilities

Garlic is cultivated using garlic bulbs under softening in dark conditions. Therefore, production of garlic must be shaded. Daejeon produces a 1m wide planting hoe in accordance with conventional methods, and then uses a wooden stake or bamboo pole to make a small scaffold with a height of 50-60cm on the rake, and the frame is covered with a black film or grasshopper to shade it. The cover is preferably made of a black film, which is both light-shielding and rain-proof, but it can be shaded with various opaque materials such as grasshoppers for protection or indoor production. Home sporadic planting can be used locally, using all kinds of waste materials to shading, potted plants can also use waste buckets to buckle on the planting basin, which is both simple and practical. In order to make full use of space, protective floor or indoor production can also be made into multi-layered bed frames according to specific circumstances to expand the planting area. Each bed frame is about 80cm apart and the base is a 20cm high bed. The bottom of the bed is covered with stalks of straw and waste film, and then 10 to 12 cm of ordinary garden soil or sand can be laid on top.

3, kind of garlic

The nutrients needed for the growth of Garlic Garlic are mainly from garlic bulbs. Therefore, it is necessary to use the fine white Garlic varieties with large bulbs and few flaps. At the same time pay attention to the selection of strong, hypertrophic, no pests, no mechanical damage bulbs for the species. Early production in the late summer and early fall should also pay attention to the use of short dormancy varieties.

4, garlic processing

Garlic bulbs have a certain period of dormancy. In order to break the dormancy and promote germination, they must be treated before sowing. The method is to remove the bulb skin, the base stem plate, and some or all of the garlic peels, so as to facilitate moisture absorption and gas exchange. The garlic planted earlier in August should also be treated at a low temperature of 0-4°C. The experiment showed that the garlic planted at low temperature of 0~4°C for 20 days was planted in Wuhan area in late August and emerged 20 days earlier than the control. In addition, soaking with fresh water for a day and night before sowing, so that garlic seed breeding water absorption and accelerate germination.

5, sowing

Garlic yellow is mostly produced in protected areas or indoors. In order to make full use of the land and increase the yield per unit area, it should be planted as closely as possible. When planting garlic clove is planted closely one by one in the cocoon, leaving as little space as possible between the garlic clove. Generally 1m (approx. 14 to 15kg). Immediately after planting, cover 3~4cm thick sandy soil, pour one time water, and cover the shade cover.

6, management

Garlic yellow mainly uses the nutrients stored in garlic bulbs to form fresh leaves for consumption. Therefore, the key to management is timely and appropriate watering, control of soil moisture and promotion of rapid leaf growth. Slow growth of dry leaves in the soil affects product quality and yield. However, under confined conditions, such as air and soil moisture, it is often prone to decay. It is usually poured once after planting to maintain high humidity and ensure the rapid emergence of garlic. Later, according to the outside temperature, soil moisture, garlic yellow growth status, a small shallow water, do not make the humidity too high. Watering once just before harvesting will not only ensure product yield and quality, but also lay the foundation for further growth after harvesting.

7, harvest

Under suitable conditions of temperature and humidity, 15 to 20 days after planting, Garlic Yellow is 30 to 40 cm high, and the first harvest is performed. Garlic 0.6-0.8 kg per 1 kg of garlic can be collected. 15 to 20 days interval can be harvested again, can continue to cast 2 or 3 times. However, the second production was only 60 to 70% of the first production, and the third production was lower and the quality was also poor. A total of 1.2 to 1.5 kg of Garlic Garlic can be harvested per 1 kg of garlic. If the seed source is sufficient, it is generally re-changed after two harvests and planted separately.
