Fertilizer Starter: Controlling Ventilation in the Fermentation Process When processing livestock manure and other organic waste into bio-organic fertilizer using a goldfish fermentation agent, an aerobic fermentation method is typically employed. This process requires proper ventilation and a specific frequency of aeration to maintain optimal conditions for microbial activity. Oxygen supply is one of the essential factors in producing high-quality aerobic bio-organic fertilizer. The amount of ventilation needed depends largely on the organic content, volatility, and degradability of the raw materials used in the composting process. The primary functions of ventilation are threefold: first, to supply oxygen that accelerates microbial decomposition; second, to regulate the temperature within the compost pile; and third, to remove excess moisture and prevent anaerobic conditions. If ventilation is insufficient, microorganisms may not receive enough oxygen, which can slow down the fermentation process and hinder temperature rise. On the other hand, excessive ventilation can lead to heat loss, potentially reducing the effectiveness of pathogen elimination during composting. Based on empirical studies, the recommended forced ventilation rate is generally between 0.05 and 0.2 cubic meters per minute per cubic meter of compost material. Controlling ventilation can be achieved through several methods. One common approach is natural ventilation, where air flows through the pile without mechanical assistance. Another method involves inserting ventilation pipes into the reactor to ensure even aeration. Additionally, specialized turning machines can be used to manually mix and aerate the compost pile. Lastly, fans can be employed for forced ventilation, providing consistent and controlled oxygen supply. These techniques help maintain the ideal environment for efficient and effective bio-organic fertilizer production.
