Drowning to feed pigs a new way out

A New Way of Feeding Pigs Using Fermented Water With the continuous improvement of living standards, the catering industry has experienced significant growth, leading to an increase in food waste, especially from hotels. This waste water, often referred to as "drowning water," is not only low in cost but also rich in nutrients, making it a potential feed for pigs. However, this water contains a high amount of spoilage bacteria and harmful substances, which makes it unsuitable for direct feeding. Pigs that consume raw water are more likely to fall ill. Therefore, it's essential to ferment the water before using it as pig feed. One effective method is using a starter culture like Gumbo Starter or Goldpox Hydroponic Ferment Starter. Previously, I used boiled water to feed my pigs, but this process was time-consuming, fuel-intensive, and inefficient. The boiled water would spoil quickly and couldn't be stored for long. Last year, I came across a fermentation product called Goldpox Hydroponic Ferment Starter online, specifically designed for fermenting glutinous water. I decided to give it a try by purchasing two bags. It worked wonders—fermentation was quick, and the resulting feed had a pleasant smell that the pigs loved. As a result, the pigs gained weight faster, and the meat quality improved. This year, I raised 200 pigs in two batches and made a profit of 60,000 yuan. Pig farming is still a promising and profitable business. The process involves mixing wheat bran, rice bran, and water in a ratio of 30%:30%:40%. If there's excess water, it should be drained. Then, add 2/1000 of the Goldpox starter, mix thoroughly, and ensure the moisture content is around 65%. To check if the moisture is right, squeeze the mixture in your hand—if it forms a ball without dripping, it's ready. Then, place the mixture into a fermentation tank (small or large, even a sink can work), seal it, and let it ferment for 3–5 days. After each use, reseal the container, and the fermented feed can be stored for over six months without spoiling. For more details, visit the official website or contact them directly.
