What to pay attention to cultivation daisies

The key technical points for cultivating daisies include ensuring adequate sunlight, as they thrive in full sun. The soil should be neutral to slightly acidic, rich in organic matter, well-draining, and moist—sandy loam is ideal. Cultivation methods vary by region. In northern China, seedlings are typically sown in open field nursery beds from late August to early September. After the emergence of 2–3 true leaves, they are transplanted once. Before winter sets in, young plants are moved into cold beds for protection. When temperatures drop, covering them with straw curtains helps prevent frost damage. In mid-April of the following year, the plants are transplanted into their final location. Watering is essential after planting, and the soil should remain consistently moist. A diluted liquid fertilizer is applied every 2–3 weeks during the growing season. Regular weeding and soil cultivation are also important to keep weeds under control and promote healthy growth. In Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, planting takes place in mid-June, with transplanting done in mid to late August. Flowering usually begins in late October or early November. During winter, the plants are brought indoors and placed in a sunny area. The room temperature should be maintained around 8–10°C. They receive moderate water and fertilizer throughout the winter. As spring approaches, the plants are gradually acclimated to outdoor conditions and moved out in early spring. This careful management allows daisies to bloom from late autumn through early summer, providing a long and vibrant flowering period.
