Loofah early prevention

In the loofah village of Wang Jianwei, located in Wangjiao Village, Kangjiabang Village, Luocheng Subdistrict, Shouguang City, some loofah plants have shown signs of burnout symptoms. As seen in the image, the flowers are the most vulnerable part of the plant. The disease starts at the edges of the petals, turning white under high humidity conditions, with a moldy appearance but no noticeable odor. This type of burnout is often caused by flower rot or *Mucor* blight, especially under high temperature and high humidity conditions. To manage the issue, local vegetable farmers can apply foliar sprays such as Kelu, Anke, or Lei Duomier. They can also mix certain pesticides into the anthers to prevent the spread of the disease effectively. Additionally, some farmers may consider using traditional herbal remedies as a supplementary treatment. For example, in winter, one common recipe involves using 4 pounds of water. Add 3 packets of guarana, 2 pieces of acetic acid, 10 ml of 2,4-D, 1 bud protector, and 12 ml of loofah extract. Also include 15 ml of green source and 1 bottle of rot inhibitor. This mixture is believed to help strengthen the plant's resistance and reduce the occurrence of disease. It’s important for farmers to monitor the environmental conditions closely and take preventive measures early to avoid severe losses. Combining chemical treatments with natural remedies can offer a more comprehensive approach to managing loofah diseases. Always follow the recommended application instructions and ensure proper ventilation in the growing area to minimize humidity levels.
