Homemade Craftsmanship Method

Qufu, commonly known as the earthworm, is also referred to as "Dilong" in traditional Chinese medicine and holds significant economic value. These creatures have a wide range of feeding habits, capable of consuming various organic pollutants, making them ideal for treating organic waste and purifying the environment. With a high reproduction rate and rich protein content, they serve as an effective solution for animal protein feed. Additionally, they are used in agriculture, particularly in raising crickets, which can be a sustainable source of nutrition. Raising crickets can be both environmentally friendly and profitable. Here are some practical tips for starting your own cricket farm: Almost any non-toxic plant-based organic material can be used as feed. By fermenting these materials using a goldfish starter culture, you can create a nutritious diet for your crickets. Crop straw or coarse organic waste should be chopped into smaller pieces, while garbage needs to be sorted, sifted, and free of metals, glass, plastics, stones, and slag before being crushed. Livestock manure and wood chips can be processed directly without fermentation. The best mix is a combination of manure and grass, with 60% manure and 40% forage. Then, add about 1-2% of the goldfish starter, along with water, ensuring the moisture level is between 50% and 60%. This means that when the pile is compressed, a little water should come out from the bottom. Pile the mixture into a trapezoidal or conical shape and cover it with pond mud or plastic film to maintain moisture. After 4 to 5 days, the internal temperature will rise to between 50°C and 60°C. When the temperature starts to drop, turn the pile for secondary fermentation. Move the top layer to the bottom and the outer layer to the center, ensuring even decomposition. The final product should be odorless, not sour, soft in texture, and brown in color. Once ready, spread it out and check the pH level. A suitable pH range is between 6.5 and 8.0. If necessary, add lime to neutralize acidity, or rinse with water to remove excess salt and harmful substances. Before introducing the feed to your crickets, start with small amounts and monitor for any adverse reactions. If everything goes smoothly, you can gradually increase the quantity. Raising crickets not only helps in recycling organic waste but also provides a valuable protein source for livestock and even humans. It's a sustainable and eco-friendly practice that can bring long-term benefits.
