Summer scorpion feeding management technology

After the start of summer, more people begin to search for food at night. During this period, it's best to feed them juicy and easily digestible food every 3 to 5 days. As summer begins, you can remove the cold shelter above the enclosure to allow more natural light in, but keep the rain protection structures intact to prevent sudden downpours. Before the summer season, all age groups enter a rapid growth phase. The larvae shed their exoskeletons, grow faster, and eventually develop into breeding quails. At this stage, each group consumes the most feed, so it's important to increase both the frequency and variety of feedings. Make sure to always provide clean, fresh water. After the warm weather sets in, many female scorpions become restless and eager to mate. Since they prefer flat surfaces for mating, it’s advisable to place wooden boards, cement slabs, or tiles in the enclosure during this time to encourage successful mating. Before the peak of summer heat, the natural temperature is ideal, which accelerates the growth of young scorpions. All age groups enter the molting stage, and mated females begin to lay eggs. At this point, provide soft, easily digestible, and nutrient-rich food for the larvae. A diet mainly consisting of 1.5 cm yellow mealworms is recommended. Pregnant females should be given extra mealworms, soil worms, fly larvae, and some meat-based feeds. Ensure that all scorpions have access to plenty of fresh water at all times. After the summer heat arrives, temperatures rise significantly. To keep the environment comfortable, regularly spray water in the active areas of the scorpions to lower the temperature and increase humidity. Spraying should be done daily, and if the weather is mild, you can extend it up to 3–5 days. Additionally, use 0.1% potassium permanganate solution for disinfection to prevent scorpion poisoning. Avoid using quicklime, as it can be harmful to the scorpions.
