It contains about 65% water, about 4% crude protein, about 4% crude fat, about 15% nitrogen-free extract, and about 12% crude fiber (ie, rice husk). % and rich in vitamins. Distillers grains contain a lot of rice hulls for loose air in fermentation, so they cannot be directly fed with cattle, pigs, chickens, and other livestock and poultry, but Tenebrio can use them effectively. Nutrients, good growth and development, high conversion efficiency. However, due to the large amount of moisture contained in the lees, it is easy to ferment and mold again, so it is best not to store, it is suitable for use with the transport.
(3) Larval feeding Tenebrio do not add feed to the young larvae of newly hatched larvae. The young larvae feeding on wheat bran are enough to grow. To prevent feed drying and water shortage, some potato or pumpkin slices and other fresh materials can be buried in wheat bran. After the young larvae feed on the wheat bran, they add the appropriate amount of wet distillers grains to the breeding box, and then put them on a feeding shelf to feed on the larvae. After that, the larvae are continuously added to the distiller's grains. When the larvae grow too large, they should be split in a timely manner and the distillers should be added after the boxes are separated.
The room temperature of the rearing room should be controlled between 24°C and 32°C. If the room temperature exceeds 32°C, the temperature in the feed layer in the breeding box will often exceed 38°C. Excessive temperature will affect the growth of the larvae. The breeding room should pay attention to ventilation and humidity, to prevent hypoxia and locust breeding.
(4) Isolation, Utilization and Benefits of Larvae After breeding larvae for more than two months, about 15% of the fine large larvae can be left as breeding worms. Sieving method can be used for size separation. If it is used for raising chickens and raising birds, it can be fed directly along with rice husks to feed birds. The use of distillers' grains to feed yellow mealworms has the advantages of low cost, simple method, large-scale production, and high profitability.
It should be noted that when distillers' grains are used as staple foods, they must be supplemented with wheat bran, rice bran, soybean meal, vegetables, etc. to achieve comprehensive nutrition and promote healthy growth of larvae.
