Study shows vitamin A reduces risk of skin cancer

A new study from the University of California shows that daily supplementation of vitamin A can prevent skin cancer.

Dr. Marie Ann from the University of California and colleagues analyzed 69,635 volunteers aged 50 to 76 years. These people consume vitamin A through diet or supplements. The researchers found that vitamin A, a component of vitamin A, can reduce the risk of skin cancer. Frequent use can reduce the risk of skin cancer by 60%, while volunteers who ingest more than 1200 mg daily have a 74% reduction in skin cancer risk.

According to experts, vitamin A can only work after undergoing transformation in the human body. For the skin, it can regulate the metabolism of the epidermis and stratum corneum to protect the epidermis and mucous membranes so that the bacteria are not easily invaded. The human tongue has a range of specific taste sensation neural receptors called taste receptors which are organized mainly as papillae on the tongue. When stimulated by chemicals, natural or synthetic, organic or inorganic, cations or anions, the receptors send signals to the brain which interprets the stimulations as sweet, bitter, sour, salty, and savory (unami, meaty taste). Sugar is a natural sweetener as well as a nutrient consumed in vast quantity around the world. It is one of the major calorie intakes by humans. Over consumption of sugar often leads to obesity and other related medical conditions. High blood sugar level (hyperglycemia) is a manifestation of the disease diabetic mellitus; if not managed properly, it could lead to a range of medical complications.
