Tractors should pay attention to four points in summer

Summer is a busy season for tractors, and it's also the peak time for various types of accidents. To ensure safe and efficient operation during this period, there are four key points that operators should pay close attention to: First, choose the right lubricant. In summer, especially in northern regions, it's important to use 11-grade diesel engine oil. This type of oil has sufficient viscosity to protect the engine components from excessive wear caused by high temperatures. Second, make sure to adjust the oil radiator valve properly. When operating in hot weather, the oil radiator changeover valve should be set to the position that allows oil to flow into the radiator. This helps cool the oil and maintain its proper temperature, preventing overheating and potential damage to the engine. Third, regularly add soft water to the cooling tank. High temperatures in summer can cause the coolant to evaporate quickly, leading to scale buildup. It's recommended to add cold soft water periodically. However, after adding water, you should run the tractor at a low speed with a small throttle for a while until the temperature drops. Avoid adding water immediately after the engine "boils" to prevent sudden thermal stress, which could lead to engine damage or even cracking. Fourth, avoid prolonged continuous operation. If you need to work for long hours, take regular breaks to check tire temperature, coolant temperature, oil temperature, and overall machine temperature. If any of these readings are too high, allow the tractor to cool down before resuming work. This practice helps prevent overheating and extends the lifespan of your equipment. By following these simple but essential steps, you can significantly reduce the risk of mechanical failure and ensure safer operation during the hot summer months.
