The excretions and secretions of sick pheasants and broiler chickens are the major sources of infection. The main routes of transmission are digestive tract, respiratory tract, and skin wounds. Symptoms: It varies with the epidemic. The most acute type: the beginning of the epidemic, when the virulence of bacteria is very strong, pheasants often do not appear obvious symptoms and suddenly die. Acute type: sick chickens do not move with eyes closed, fluffy feathers, wings drooping, face becomes dark purple, abnormal thirsty, upper respiratory mucus accumulates, yellow or grayish diarrhea, feathers around the anus are adhered by feces, after 15 days death. Chronic type: The diseased pheasant is emaciated, apathetic, pale in the mucous membranes, and some joints swell and purulent, causing claudication, and some may be delayed for several weeks.
