China's disposable syringe trade surplus continues to expand

Export trade

Jiangsu is the leader

In 2010, a total of 26 disposable syringes were exported from China, including Jiangsu, Guangdong, Shanghai, Shandong, Tianjin, Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangxi, Fujian and Liaoning. 95.62%. Ranked first in Jiangsu Province, its Disposable Syringe exports amounted to 86.254 million US dollars, an increase of 24.5%, accounting for 25.94%.

Five trading partners

In 2010, China exported a total of one-time syringes to 171 countries and regions, ranking top five in exports to the United States, Germany, Russia, Brazil, and Italy. The related export value was US$ 66.667 million, US$ 25.6595 million, and US$ 11.198 million respectively. With US$9.6943 million and US$9.1127 million, the five major trading partners accounted for 36.89% of the total, of which the United States accounted for 20.11%. It was the largest trading partner for disposable syringe exports in China.

The main method of general trade

China's disposable syringes have nine export methods: general trade, processing trade, goods entering and leaving the bonded warehouses, bonded repositories, and small-scale trade on the border. General trade and processing trade are the main methods. In 2010, China's disposable syringes were exported in the form of general trade. The related export volume was US$239.427 million, accounting for 72.02% of the total; and the syringes exported by processing trade accounted for 26.71% of the total exports.

Private enterprise is the main force

In 2010, there were 842 domestic enterprises engaged in the export of disposable syringes, of which 644 were private enterprises, and the export value was US$ 213.196 million, accounting for 64.13% of the total. There were 71 foreign-funded enterprises, and the export value was 98.878 million US dollars, accounting for 29.71. %; There are 123 state-owned enterprises with an export value of US$ 1992.89 million, accounting for 5.99%.

The top ten enterprises with disposable syringes export value totaled USD 175,541,300, accounting for 52.8%. Among them, Flextronics (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. and Novo Nordisk (China) Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. have both exported more than 30 million US dollars, accounting for 22.82% of the total. The disposable syringe exports of Flextronics, Shanghai Kangdelai, Shandong Weigao, and Changzhou City increased by 46.06%, 55.02%, 97.35%, and 132.33% year-on-year (Table 1).



Import trade

Imported areas are highly concentrated

In 2010, a total of 21 disposable syringes were imported into China, and Shanghai, Tianjin, Guangdong, Beijing, Shandong, Jilin, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Liaoning, and Heilongjiang ranked among the top ten importers, accounting for 99.5% of the total. Among them, Shanghai's related import amounted to 38.921 million US dollars, accounting for 34.7%; Tianjin 30.43 million US dollars, accounting for 27.13%; Guangdong 15.8384 million US dollars, accounting for 13.72%.

The biggest increase in German imports

In 2010, China imported disposable syringes from 33 countries and regions, ranking top five in terms of imports to the United States, Germany, Denmark, Switzerland, and Spain. The relevant imports were US$50.221 million (44.78%) and US$17.193 million, respectively. (accounting for 15.33%), $15.258 million (accounting for 13.60%), $7.5186 million (accounting for 6.70%), and $5.6633 million (accounting for 5%), accounting for 85.41% of the total. Among them, the largest increase in import value of Germany (123.69%) compared to the same period last year.

The main method of general trade

China's single-use syringes import trade methods include seven methods of general trade, processing trade, import and export of bonded warehouses, warehousing re-exports in bonded areas, and small-scale trade in border areas, among which general trade, processing trade, and warehousing re-exports in bonded areas are the main methods. In 2010, the import volume of disposable syringes for general trade was US$58.125 million, accounting for 51.8%; the import value for processing trade was 30.59%; the import volume for warehousing re-exports in the bonded zone accounted for 10.9%.

Foreign companies ranked first

In 2010, a total of 286 enterprises in China engaged in the import of disposable syringes, of which 109 were foreign-funded enterprises, the related import amount was 70.451 million US dollars, accounting for 62.81%; the number of private enterprises was 109, and the related import amount was 23,376,600 US dollars, accounting for 20.84 %; State-owned enterprises accounted for 66, and the related import amount was 18.3323 million US dollars, accounting for 16.34%.

The top ten enterprises in the import amount totaled 83,246,600 U.S. dollars, accounting for 74.21% of the total. Among them, Novo Nordisk (China) Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Flextronics (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. and Biodi Medical Devices (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. have higher import volumes than other companies. Novo Nordisk, Flextronics and Shandong Weigao's imports increased by a large margin compared with the same period last year, which were 50.09%, 45.31% and 83.23%, respectively (see Table 2).
