In the first half of 2010, exports of Uzbek fruits and vegetables increased by 163%

According to a news report from the State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan quoted by REGNUM news agency, in the first half of 2010, Uzbekistan exported 331,000 tons of fruits and vegetables, which amounted to USD 367 million, an increase of 163% over the previous year. Among them, Russia is the largest export destination, with exports of 172,000 tons, amounting to US$255.6 million; exports to Kazakhstan have increased significantly, with exports of 48,000 tons, amounting to US$46.7 million.
