Warming turtles in the winter is worth a try

With the improvement of people's living standards, the market demand for turtles is also increasing. However, turtles have the habit of hibernation, under natural conditions, the growth rate is slow, the growth cycle is longer, the benefit is not significant; constant temperature breeding effect is good, but cost too much, not suitable for ordinary farmers. To this end, researchers from the Marine Biology Institute of Zhanjiang Ocean University utilized the characteristics of short winter time in Guangdong and Guangxi to carry out a winter warming culture experiment and obtained a 525-pound turtle of 19 months of age, which greatly shortened the breeding cycle and improved the economic benefits of breeding. . The method is now described as follows:

First, breeding methods 1, stocking density of 50 grams or less stocking density of 100 per square meter, 50-250 grams of stocking 40-50 per square meter, 250-500 grams of stocking 20-30 per square meter. 2. Feed selection The nutrient content of the feed used in this experiment was: protein 44%, crude fat 3%, crude fiber 12%, crude ash 165%, and appropriate amount of starch was added to the food group for feeding. 3, environmental management Turtle hi Yin, fear of disturbing, for this turtle pool set aside a certain amount of shade and shelter, while maintaining a quiet pool turtle around. 4. Warming When the water temperature falls below 23°C, warming starts. Each pool uses 500W heaters. It is suspended 10cm above the rest platform and the water temperature is kept above 25°C. When the water temperature rises, you can stop heating. In Guangdong and southern Guangxi, it is generally only necessary to heat for more than 2 months. 5. Water Management Change the water once a day. Disinfect once with 6 mg/L potassium permanganate every 2 months. 6. Feeding method Feeding twice a day, the amount of feeding is 5%-8% of the total amount of turtles. Feeding time is 9:00 am and 17:00 pm. The bait is made into small lumps. 7, grading rearing in the breeding process, when the size of the turtle is not uniform, it is necessary to timely pool, so as to avoid the phenomenon of disparity caused by the "uneven food" phenomenon. 8, disease control Turtle less disease, to prevent the main bait in the appropriate amount of calcium, vitamins and sulfa drugs. As the turtle's body weight increased, the proportion of calcium tablets gradually decreased, while the proportion of vitamins and sulfonamides gradually increased. The turtle is soaked with 8 mg/L potassium permanganate for 5-10 minutes each month. Due to the high stocking density during turtle breeding, there is often a phenomenon of being bitten. At this time, the diseased turtle should be taken out, gently coated with a layer of sulphonamide ointment, and placed in a dry place for 4-5 hours, and then painted once a day. Can basically heal.

Second, the test results 1, in the winter warming conditions, turtles grow quickly. 2. Unlike warm-raised turtles, turtles that entered natural hibernation started 2 months after the 2nd year of the 2nd year of the year and began to ingest food. Their body weight decreased by an average of 49%. Although the body weight increased after 2 months of starting the diet, the weight gain rate was only 40%. After 4 months, the body weight reached the standard before hibernation.

III. Discussion of the results 1. Under natural conditions, turtles did not grow for four months due to hibernation. However, under conditions of warming and cost, the turtles could not hibernate and could continue to grow, greatly increasing the culture. benefit. 2. In the case of warming culture, the 19-month-old turtle meets the specifications of the commodity, and the naturally farmed turtle should be listed 5-6 years. Comprehensive analysis, warming culture is a viable economic breeding mode. When the tortoise reaches 525 grams, its monthly weight gain rate is significantly reduced. In view of this, when the commodity turtle reaches 500 grams or more, it should be sold in time, which not only shortens the breeding period, but also increases the breeding efficiency.
