Fox's five-step feeding method

(1) Breeding and management before mating Currently, foxes are mainly silver foxes and blue foxes. The silver fox is in preparation for breeding from December to next January; the preparation of blue fox breeding can be extended to February. The main task of this period is to adjust the nutritional level of the diet and increase the proportion of protein in the diet so that the breeding fox can reach a moderate upper body condition before breeding. For over-fertilized and over-sized foxes, different nutrient standards should be implemented so that the body weight can reach 5 kg to 6 kg before breeding. At the same time, it is necessary to gradually increase the light to stimulate the development of gonads. The fox should be kept in the sun. (II) Feeding management of breeding period The breeding period of silver fox is from February to March; the mating period of blue fox is from March to April. In this period, feed fodder with nutritious, palatable, and digestible fodder should be supplied, and the proportion of trace elements and multidimensional elements in fodder should be appropriately increased. Vitamin E 20 mg to 30 mg per kilogram of feed, onion or garlic 4 g to 5 g and trace elements 1 g to 1.5 g can be added. (3) Feeding and management during pregnancy The female fox has a particularly strong demand for nutrition during the pregnancy period. Pay attention to the supply of nutritious, high-quality feed, and avoid feeding with rotten spoilage feed to prevent abortion. At the same time, we must also do a good job in sanitation and disinfection of the huts, keep the hut quiet, and minimize the occurrence of stress factors. (IV) Feeding and management during lactation The follicles of the mother have poor appetite in the early part of their farrowing, and it is better to feed them less frequently. Three days later, they are fed three times a day, and they are regularly quantified. The fox grows up to 25 days of age and should be supplemented. Usually, it is supplemented twice daily. Fresh fish, liver, eggs, milk, etc. can be adjusted into a paste when feeding, allowing the fox to feed and return to the original nest after feeding. (V) Feeding and management during the rearing period The foxes are usually weaned at 45 to 50 days of age. Those who are physically strong and have independent living ability should divide their nests early; those with weaker bodies should delay decentralization. After the fox is divided into follicles, it enters the rearing period. Because the young fox grows faster at this stage and the plush grows rapidly in the later period, it needs a lot of nutrients. Therefore, the fox should be eaten as much as possible to ensure the normal growth and development of the fox.
