Lambs 3 common diseases

First, a cold. When the ewes are delivered, after the umbilical cord is cut off, the mucus on the lambs is wiped dry, and it is wrapped in clean sacks, etc. The lambs are placed in a warm insulation house, and more soft hay is laid on the bed to prevent the lambs from getting cold. Under conditions of cold temperatures, lambs within 10 days should not be allowed to leave home for activities that prevent colds. When the lamb is suffering from a cold, it is necessary to intensify care, feed fresh and fresh grass that is easily digestible, drink clean and warm water, and prevent it from catching cold again. Treatment can be intramuscular injection of penicillin or aminopyrine, etc., at a dose of 1 to 2 ml each; prevention of secondary infection, antibiotics or sulfa drugs can be used.

Second, pneumonia. Within 10 days of the birth of the lamb, the incidence of pneumonia is high. Except for reasons such as malnutrition, lack of vitamins, and early weaning leading to decreased resistance, it is also often caused by climate change. The measures to prevent lamb pneumonia are: to strengthen the feeding and management of lambs, to feed breast milk, to keep the products clean and warm, to change grass bedding, keep the air in the house well, and prevent cold winds from attacking. Lamb pneumonia can be treated with 10 to 200,000 units of penicillin, or 200,000 units of streptomycin, intramuscularly, twice daily.

Third, dysentery. Lamb dysentery is more common in lambs less than 7 days after birth. Sick lambs do not eat milk, diarrhea, feces first gray or light yellow, later turned red and brown, and foul smell. Often within 2 to 3 days. There are several ways to treat lamb dysentery: 1 Chloramphenicol intramuscularly, 125,000 units each time, twice daily. 2 sulfamethoxazole 1g, citric acid protein 0.2g, sodium bicarbonate 0.2g, once in oral administration, 3 times daily. 3 For winter glutinous rice, available regular ginseng, dried ginger, licorice root, Atractylodes each equal amount (20 ~ 80g lamb) Jianshui cooling after oral administration, 2 to 3 times a day, continuous service 2-3 days. 4 Poplar flower 500g, add water, amount, Jianzhi concentrated to 500ml. Daily 10 ~ 15ml, 1 served, even served 2 to 3 Jiyu.
