American Black Walnut

American Black Walnut is a rare fruit and fruit tree species imported from the United States more than ten years ago in the “948” forestry introduction project of the State Forestry Administration. It has been introduced by many countries in the world. At present, black walnuts have been settled in Shaanxi, Gansu, Henan, Jiangxi, Shandong, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan and Xinjiang provinces in China. U.S. black walnuts are dry, straight, fast-growing, well-developed roots, strong anti-drought, cold-resistant, disease-resistant pests, root-resistant rot, and strong stress-resistance, and are not only the preferred species for creating efficient fast-growing economic forests. It is also an ideal farmland shelter forest and urban afforestation tree species. Black walnuts can grow normally in our country at latitude 28-43, annual rainfall 800mm or in areas with irrigation, PH value between 4-8, loam, clay loam and silt loam with soil thickness more than 1cm. In particular, the annual average temperature is above 10°C, the growth period is over 170 days, and the best rainfall is above 800mm.
